Winter plans, 2007

Started some seeds in potting soil under the new grow light in the guest room:
  • evergreen bunching onions (scallions)
  • giant leeks
  • red ursa kale
The scallion roots grew well in the pot, and the first re-harvest was good. The re-growth after that harvest was pretty spindly, so I chucked them. I think perhaps they are only good for one re-growth, or I need to do something better with the soil. The Fox Farm Ocean potting soil that I am using is really heavy, so I bought some vermiculite to use with it.

No visible sign of germination yet from the cactus seeds. I planted more just in case. The basil and peppers are sprouted and ready for transplant into bigger pots.
