Scallions are also visible in the foreground. I'm not lucky at growing these from seed, so I just take ones that we buy from the grocery store and cut off about 1 inch above the root, use the top for cooking, and plant the bottom. It's worked well in the past. The scallions regrow in the garden and I can pull up the entire (re-grown) scallion or just trim off part of it to use for cooking. I learned that the top green parts are much more moist and onion-y when fresh cut compared to ones that you get from the store.
We also brought the citrus plants outside. The lemon tree had LOTS of blossoms a month ago, so we are expecting a big crop of lemons. In the picture you can see a baby one that already turned yellow. The rest are still dark green. The citrus plants don't get enough light inside during the winter, but it's the best I can do for them. Thus, they look a little starved for light when they go outside.
